Reasonable doubt

Having already formed an opinion of the defendants guilt regardless of evidence and testimony.
Bias
All charges against the defendant dropped and they are now cleared.
Acquittal
An attorney assigned to your case if you cannot afford one. Guaranteed by the 6th amendment.
Public Defender
The person charged with a crime.
Defendant.
In inability to be charged and tried twice for the same crime once declared "not guilty" in a previous trial.
Double Joepardy
When all jurors agree on the verdict and guilt of the defendant.

A fixed idea of a person or group which labels all of its members with the same characteristics.
Stereotype

The questioning and interviewing of potential jurors to judge if they are fit to serve as a juror on the case.
Voir Dire
The act of unlawfully killing another human being unintentionally. Due to carelessness or recklessness.
Involuntary Manslaughter
A murder of exceptional premeditation and/or cruelty.
First degree
An intentional killing that is not premeditated or planned.
Second degree
An accidental death that occurs while committing a felony (a serious crime such as arson or burglary)
Felony murder
The killing of a human being in which the offender had no prior intent to kill and acted impulsively during intense emotion.
