You should walk in quietly and sit down at our assigned seat.
How should I save the place I left off reading in a book?
Use a bookmark or a piece of paper.
What I need to do after 1 week if I am not finished with my book?
I would renew it at check out.

Where is the biography section of the library?
This section of books is in the front of the library nearest the story steps and has a blue label on the spine as well as "B" in the call numbers.
What should I bring to the library with me?
You would bring only your book(s) to check in or renew and nothing else.
What should I do before reading my library book?
You should wash your hands.
What do I do with a book I took off the shelf but don't want to check out?
If you've looked at it and decide you don't want it put it back where it belongs.
How many books can I borrow?
up to 2 books

Put it back on the shelf if I know where it goes OR put it on the return book cart.
Where do we put books to check-in?
Put your books in basket in our classrooms. They are brought to the library desk.
How should I take my books home from school?
You should put them in your backpack away from any water bottles.
How long can I keep my book for?
One week or renew it.
What is fiction?
Fiction is a made up story. It has a spine label with the author's last name and an "F".
What is non fiction?
a book with facts and information
What do I do if I want to ask or answer a question?
I should raise my hand and wait until i am called upon.
Why can't I lend my library book to my friend?
Because the book has been checked out in your name and it is your responsibility.
Where do I go when I am finished checking-out my books?
You should go back and sit at your table/seat and read/color/or draw quietly.
What can help me find a book?
The library signs, Destiny, and the spine label
What happens if my book is lost or damaged?
You will need to send in a replacement copy or pay for it.
What if a book falls on the floor?
You should pick it up and put it back on the shelf if you know where it goes or put it on the return book cart.
What should I keep my book away from?
pets, small children, food or water
What is the name of the computer program where I can see the books in the Manito library?
Destiny is the program we use here at Manito

With the spine facing out and the call number down.
Why should I take care of library books?
Because we share these books with the school and others want to read it.
