Library will only be a quick checkout and straight back to class. Ms Jackson will decide if the whole class goes back or if those that are following the rules may stay if some have been reading.

You may: play games, color/make cards*, do puzzles, legos, magnetic puzzles/build, kinetics, marble towers, etc on the back wall.  Relax and socialize in that room.

What are the rules about damaged books?

It is your job to inspect the book for any damage before leaving the library with it.  After that the book is your responsibility.  "It was already like that" is not an excuse.  If damaged, inform the librarian right away.  Do NOT fix it- do not have parents or teachers fix it.

By genre, then author's last name.  With a few "universe" exceptions such as Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Disney.

How can you earn free time?

Read.  Finish your book between each visit. Novels between 3 and 5 points earn 1 free time visit.  Books worth 6-10 points get you 2 free time visits and books 11 + get you 3.  Or, if read shorter chapter books, graphic novels, nonfiction you must EARN 2 points.  You can also use a punch card you earned or a friend can use one for you.

Receive a red slip  for poor behavior choices/breaking rules.  It means the next 2 fun events (free time, class games, even dog visits/100 party) you lose out on participating.  Get 3 in a year you are done for the year on any fun activities and will be stuck reading or working on classwork.
