Read the quote: "What will be will be." Is it better to make plans for the future, or to just wait and see what happens? Give your opinion. Then support it with your own example: one big goal, what you are going to do to achieve it, and what you think will happen.

What to listen for:

  • a clear opinion with a reason (I think…, because…);
  • at least 3 plans with be going to and a time expression (next year, in two years' time…);
  • at least 3 predictions with will, using probably, definitely / certainly and I don't think … will;
  • correct choice of tense: going to for plans, will for predictions. If she says I will study medicine about a decision she has already made, ask her to say it again.
