Traditionally, children are portrayed as innocent. Are they innocent in this story? How does this change? Give two examples from the text to support.
The children start out innocent enough. When they crash, they work together to create and maintain a society and make a plan for rescue. They divide up jobs and seem to remain innocent. Then, as time passes, they become more savage and wild and lose their sense of civilization until it results in murder and death. Examples will vary.
