How do Viruses Reproduce?
Depending on the type of virus, it will either use the Lytic Cycle or the Lysogenic Cycle
Step 1:
The virus attaches to a host cell?
Step 1:
The virus attaches to a host cell and inserts DNA
Step 2:
The virus inserts its DNA into the host cell?
Step 2:
The virus’s DNA becomes part of the host cell’s DNA, but remains dormant (inactive).
Step 3:
Using the instructions from the virus’s DNA, the cell begins to build more viruses?
Step 3:
While the DNA is inactive, the cell divides.
Step 4:
The cell will keep building until there’s too many viruses and the cell dies.
And these new viruses will then look for a new cell to infect?
Step 4:
The virus then becomes active and enters the lytic cycle. The cell begins to build viruses.
Step 5:
The cell will keep building until there’s too many viruses and the cell dies.
