Parts of Speech
the part of speech that is the action word needed in every sentence
Verb
the name for the noun or pronoun that is doing the action in a sentence
subject
the name for the person or thing that the action is being done to in a sentence
Example: My friend draws flowers.
direct object
the name for the person or thing that the direct object in a sentence is to or for
Example: My mom gave you a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
indirect object
this part of a sentence is signaled by a word like "in" "on" "of" "with" "for," etc. and is diagrammed below the line
Example: The cabin in the woods was spooky.
prepositional phrase
