Whilst in class, Jane’s teacher asked Jane to name her two animals. Upon hearing the question, Jane hit herself and started coughing for 4 seconds. After coughing, she hit herself while answering the question, stating a camel. Jane hit herself whilst thinking for 5 seconds before stating the second animal, a penguin. Her teacher praised Jane and gave her a worksheet on animals to complete. Jane saw the worksheet and hit herself 3 times. Jane took 5 minutes to finish the first 4 questions and took another 8 minutes before finishing the remaining 6 questions on the worksheet. She hit herself one more time before handing in the worksheet to her teacher.

What is the x-axis usually represents time, sessions, or dates. The y-axis represents the behavior being measured.
How much time had passed between two consecutive responses in the same response class.
What is inter-response time.
Suppose a practitioner is measuring whether a child remains engaged with an activity during one-minute intervals. If the child stays engaged for the entire minute, the interval is marked. If the child stops participating for even a few seconds, the interval isn't counted.

THE LATENCY OF THOMAS EATING THE MUSHROOM.
Thomas was jumping on the trampoline. His mother told Thomas to come down from the trampoline to get ready for lunch. Thomas continued jumping for 8 seconds before going down from the trampoline. After getting ready for lunch, Thomas spotted a mushroom on his plate. He did not want to eat the mushroom and screamed for 2 seconds. His mother came to see what was happening and Thomas screamed for another 5 seconds. While his mother ignored Thomas, she heard Thomas scream another 4 times for 3 seconds, 5 seconds, 2 seconds and 8 seconds respectively. Thomas’ mother entered the room and told Thomas to eat the mushroom. After 3 seconds, Thomas took a bite of the mushroom. He took a second bite of the mushroom after 7 seconds and a third bite after 3 seconds. Thomas was then allowed to leave the table.
What is 3 seconds.
a practitioner might check every 30 seconds to see whether a child is engaged with their activity. If the child is engaged when the interval ends, the practitioner records it. It doesn't matter whether the child was engaged for the rest of that interval.

A client’s independent responses increase from 20% to 80% across several sessions. What does this trend indicate?
