This ratio represents how the President's full workload release is split between Mount Royal University and the Association.
What is 50/50 (one-half paid by MRU and one-half purchased by the MRFA)?
This Officer works directly with the President to monitor proposed changes to University governance and policy affecting faculty working conditions.
Who is the Academic Policy and Governance Officer (APGO)?
Along with the Negotiations Officer, the President is empowered to take this formal action once a Collective Agreement is concluded and ratified.
What is signing the Collective Agreement on behalf of the Executive Board?
The President represents the Association at Step 2 grievance proceedings in direct collaboration with this Officer.
Who is the Senior Grievance and Workplace Wellness Officer?
In addition to serving as Chief Executive Officer and Chairing the Executive Board, name two other MRFA committees the President directly chairs.
What are the Bylaws and Policy Committee (BPC) and Bargaining Coordination Committee (BCC)?
If the President must vacate their position for longer than this duration, the Executive Board must appoint an acting President from its current elected members.
What is four business days?
Outside MRU, the President serves as the Association's official representative to these two provincial and national bodies.
What are CAUT and CAFA ?
The President serves as Vice-Chair on the Audit and Finance Committee, which is Chaired by this Officer.
Who is the Finance Officer?
Following the completion of their final full term, the Association purchases full reassigned teaching time for the President during this specific timeframe.
What is the subsequent Fall semester?
Beyond regular board meetings, the President must convene an Executive Board meeting whenever petitioned in writing by at least this many voting Board members.
What is five (5) voting members?
While the President may express non-partisan political views on post-secondary education, the MRFA is strictly prohibited from taking this action.
What is endorsing or donating to a political party or candidate?
The President serves on the MRU Coalition alongside the Advocacy Officer and representatives from these two other campus groups.
