This is the time when students arrive at their new college/university and learn the important components (pieces) of what life will be like.
New Student Orientation
This can and often is an abbreviation. This number is typically calculated by adding all the numbered grades you've received and dividing them by the number of credits/classes you've taken.
GPA
A person who is or has finished studying beyond a bachelor's degree.
Graduate/Gradute Student
This degree is earned by students at a college or university. Students who earn these have been accepted into a college or university and have passed required classes and internships/experiences in an area of study.
College Degree/Degree
This money is a tool to help cover the cost of higher education (education after high school). The money will have an interest rate (extra fees) set by the government or the private lender (whichever provided the funds).
Loans/Student Loans
This is where students come to study, relax, socialize, and sometimes eat.
Student Union/Cafe/Cafeteria
A professional who guides students through the college search, application, and selection process. Offering assistance with college development and financial aid strategies.
Counselor/Advisor
One of 2 primary 15-17 week academic terms. Usually Fall and Spring, but can sometimes be Winter or Summer.
Semester
This degree is a special certificate you get from a university. It shows you have studied a specific subject in a lot of detail. You usually get this degree after you have finished your first university degree, called a bachelor's degree. Think of it as going deeper into a subject you really like! People with this degree are seen as having more advanced knowledge in their chosen field compared to those with only a bachelor's degree.
Master of Arts/M.A/Master's Degree
This money is provided to students by a program, a school, a community resource, a foundation, or the government. These students are often eligible for financial aid as well.
Grants
This is a financial aid program that provides part-time jobs to students with financial needs.
Work Study
This is the main thing that they decide to study in college. They take many classes that are connected with this area of study.
Program/Major
A highly educated teacher who works at a college or university.
Professor/Instructor
This degree is the highest academic degree you can earn from a university. It shows that someone is an expert in their field. This special degree usually means they have done a lot of advanced study and original research.

This is someone who attends college while playing sports.
Student Athlete
This is a student who moves to a new college or university.
Transfer/Transfer Student
Usually located on or near a university campus, it sells required textbooks, school supplies, and college-branded gear (clothing, notebooks, etc.). There are often snacks, coffee, and student desires like earphones, books, and other materials.
