Staff call outs should be made, to your direct supervisor, at least four hours before your scheduled shift so that staffing arrangements can be made.

What is Line of Sight?

Students are in staff’s line of sight at all times, 100% of the time. This means that staff are to consistently and effectively position themselves in a place where they are aware of and visually see all students, 100% of the time.

What test can Think Together require from an employee who gives them a reasonable offense that you may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol? 

blood, urine, or other chemical test for drugs or alcohol whenever Think Together has reasonable cause to believe the employee is in violation of this policy.

Every 15th and last day of the month (unless those days end on a weekend).

What is the process of calling out and taking a leave of absence?

Time - Off Request Process

- Submit time off request to Gloria a minimum of two weeks prior to request effective date via communication for direct supervisor. (May not always be approved.)

-Email or text Gloria to notify you have submitted time-off request.

-Taking a leave of absence must be approved prior to leaving.

Call - Out Process

-Call out a minimum of 4 hours prior to your shift. ( You are not guaranteed coverage.)

How do I keep Line of Sight?

•Manage by Walking Around (MBWA).

•Be in close proximity to ensure students are following expectations. 

•Staff members attentive to what students are doing.

•Students should not be behind you.

•Know playground boundaries and redirect students in those areas.

This policy applies to all...

controlled substances, including but not limited to street drugs like cannabis, cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl, LSD or other psychedelic drugs, as well as prescription drugs obtained without a proper and lawful prescription, or which are not being used properly by the employee for whom they were prescribed. This policy applies to all employees of Think Together, as well as consultants, contractors, and volunteers providing services to Think Together.

If the Employee reports to work dressed or groomed inappropriately...

If the Employee reports to work dressed or groomed inappropriately, they may be prevented from working until they return to work properly groomed and wearing the proper attire.

How do I add a note to my timecard is I notice a error? 

Log onto the computer, click myself, my timecard, click add note, type your note and the correction, press okay, then scroll down and press save.

How many unreported absences can you take before it is considered a voluntary resignation of employment with the Think Together?

Any unreported absences of three (3) consecutive workdays generally will be considered a voluntary resignation of employment with the Think Together.

What are some appropriate and inappropriate examples of the touch policy?

Appropriate

•Respect for students’ rights to privacy and personal space.

•Reassuring touch on the shoulder to show approval or provide support.

•Handshakes

•High fives

•Fist bumps

Prohibited touch:

•Manual/physical restraint

•Using physical force to change student behavior

•Coercion (physical or emotional) or other forms of exploitation of the student’s lack of knowledge.

•Disregard for student’s rights

•Failure to respect student’s personal privacy or space.

•Forceful holding or squeezing of a student’s hand as a way to change behavior.

•Corporal punishment. 

•Hitting or in any way physically assaulting a student.

7-8. Punctuality and Attendance: Employees are hired to perform important functions at Think Together. As with any group effort, operating effectively takes cooperation and commitment from everyone. Therefore, attendance and punctuality are very important. Unnecessary absences and lateness are expensive and disruptive...

and place an unfair burden on fellow employees and supervisors. We expect excellent attendance from all employees. Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. There are times when absences and tardiness cannot be avoided. In such cases, employees are expected to notify their supervisors as early as possible, but no later than the start of the workday, that they will be tardy or absent that day.

What would happen if you or someone you know partakes in the use of...

Using, possessing, purchasing, selling, negotiating the sale or purchase of, or being under the influence of drugs, or being under the influence of alcohol, during working time, or on the premises of Think Together or any school site (including parking lots) or while engaged in work duties is absolutely forbidden and will result in discharge or other discipline as Think Together deems appropriate.
