describe the affiliate pin and what is it's significance?
The Affiliate Pin is oval in shape. The pin is divided equally from one tip to the other by a gold strand. The black half of the pin signifies the mysteries of the Sorority not yet known by the Affiliates. The gold half of the pin signifies the preciousness of the Sorority not yet felt by the Affiliates. Together with the oval shape, the pin signifies that all Affiliates work as one to be rewarded by the special preciousness and to understand and respect the secrets of our Sorority.
what is the purpose of the affiliate education process?
learn skills needed to be a successful Sister once she is admitted to the active membership.
what are you responsible for paying each semester and how much?
dues; $210 for New Members, $180 for Active Sisters

describe the jeweled badge and who can wear it?
Undergraduates are not allowed to wear the jeweled badges. These badges are the same basic design as the plain badge, but are paneled with a border of pearls. The pearls exemplify scholastic success through graduation. These badges must be worn only by Alumnae, Honorary Sisters, mother’s, sisters, spouses, or fiancés of the Sister.
what is the purpose of first degree?
The First Degree celebrates the strong will and determined principles in each Affiliate. This is a secret Degree and all Affiliates should be aware that whether or not they pass this Degree, it is still their moral obligation to keep the secrets of this Sorority intact.
what makes you an active sister?
As long as you are a student on campus where your chapter operates, you are an Active Sister.

who can wear the national sorority badge and what does it look like?
The badge consists of an oval shaped panel of black enamel, which signifies the rituals of the Sorority, on which appears the Greek letter “K”, symbolizing Kindness. The letter “K” shall be in gold showing through the enamel surface, signifying the internal light we all receive from practicing this Kindness. The oval shape exemplifies all Sisters working as one.
what is the purpose of second degree?
Before the process of the Second Degree takes place, each of the Affiliates is asked to study the Affiliate Manual and learn the history, traditions, symbols, goals, ideals, and structure of Kappa Delta Phi National Affiliated Sorority, Inc. The Second Degree tests each Affiliate’s knowledge of the National Sorority through administration of the National Exam. The Second Degree Ceremony celebrates the significance of the chapter’s name.

You are responsible for abiding by the Risk Management policies and Hazing policy as well as the laws, regulations and constitution of Kappa Delta Phi, N.A.S.

The Key is an old-fashioned scroll pierced by a quill which forms the end of the key. The Kappa Delta Phi National Affiliated Sorority, Inc. Crest appears on the scroll.
what is the purpose of third degree?
The Third Degree Ceremony marks the end of the Affiliate Education period and celebrates your entrance into the bonds of Sisterhood.
what are you responsible for attending as an active sister?
you are responsible for attending chapter meetings, events and philanthropies.
what is our national flower?
describe the National Flag and it's parts.
The flag is rectangular in shape, consisting of three equally shaped panels. The center panel is gold and the other two are black. The Greek letter “K” appears in black in the center of the middle panel. A golden rose appears in the left black panel near the bottom edge. The flag is to be displayed at all special occasions of the Sorority and each chapter must possess a flag.
what does our National Sorority Key signify and whom is it presented to?
The key, signifying wisdom, is presented to all Kappa Roses by the National Sorority. In addition to being presented to Kappa Roses, local chapters, with the approval of the Board of Directors, may present The Key Award to chapter scholars.
