A flexible thinker will be able to handle a new plan or change. A rigid thinker gets stuck and only wants to do what they want.

What does it mean to follow your own plan or follow the group plan?
Your own plan is doing what you want and the group plan is doing what is best for the group and following along in what activity the group is doing.

How is our behavior different when we are in different places like the classroom, library, and gym class?
In class we sit at our desks to work. In the school library we use quiet voices. In gym class we run and play games and use louder voices.

How do you act when you see someone else breaking the rules?
Unless it is something dangerous you should ignore it and worry about you.

Someone who is being flexible would let their friends pick what to play. Someone who is rigid who only play what they want.

How can we tell what the group plan is if we aren't sure?
We can look around and observe others. If everyone is lining up at the door the group plan is to line up and walk somewhere as a class.

At school we can be louder in the cafeteria and outside at recess. We should be quiet when we are working or in the hallways.

You could talk to your friend and let them know they don't have to do it.

Miles could ask his partner if they could take turns writing or if there is another job she wants to do.

Public places are places where there are groups of people around. Private places have little to no people. We act differently in public and private places. Name 2 public places and 2 private places in your school.
The cafeteria during lunch or an assembly are public places. An empty classroom or alone in a bathroom are private places.

How do you act when your friends invite you to play a game but one friend is left out?
You could say to the group "Let's invite our other friend".

Lauren isn't finished with her drawing in art class when it is time to go. She only has a little bit left and really wants to finish. Her class is leaving but she refuses to leave until her drawing is done. What are two strategies she can use to be a more flexible thinker?
Lauren could take deep breaths to calm down when she's feeling upset. She can also try to talk to an adult to make plans to solve her problem if she can't figure out what to do.

Zack and Tim are making a poster for Health Class. The topic is healthy eating. Zack loves to eat pizza so he draws pizza all over the poster. Tim feel upset and says they have to start over. How did Zack follow his own plan and not the group plan? What could he have done instead?
Zack drew what he liked instead of following the topic for the poster. He should have talked with his partner and they could decide what to draw together.

In a homework club it is expected to be quiet and not distract others who are working on homework. The people there have a goal of finishing work. Daya should not play videos out loud or make a lot of noise around the others.

You could talk to your teacher and see how the game is played before making up your mind.
