What is wearing artificial, shellac, or nail polish that is chipped nails is NOT allowed for employees with direct patient care.

What is the passing rate for each Speciality assessment
You will be given the speciality assessment during the first week of orientation and then again at the end of orientation.
If you did not pass both times, you will need to remediate and take your third attempt.
Passing is ICU 82%, MST 85%, PCU 81% and ED 81%
What are the responsibilities of the residents for the Zoom classes
You must have a working camera and audio active throughout the entire zoom session.
Please do not schedule yourself to work the night shift before a zoom class
All zoom classes are mandatory, there are NO makeup classes.
Absence with notification: If you are unable to attend class and notify the site coordinator, educator and your manager, the absence will be considered an occurrence and a call-in for your unit.
Absence without notification: Failure to attend class and failure to notify anyone will be considered a No Call/No Show for your unit.
No Pyxis or Epic access

Who Approve Vacation Time
Only your manager approve Vacation time not your educator or site coordinator.
What is the expectations about PTO while in residency?
PTO should be scheduled around classes. If you miss a class because you are on PTO this not considered as an excused absence and it will be considered an unapproved absence/occurrence on the unit.
What is ECG passing rate
Basic ECG -MST Advanced ECG - ICU/PCU/ED
If you are unsuccessful to pass the first time you will do a remediation and take again.
If unsuccessful by 3rd attempt per policy you will be let go.
Passing for advanced is 75% and basic is 77%
Assignments in Canvas that are needed to be done before becoming independent.
Journal entries, pulse surveys, Casey-Fink survey, prework, out rotation reflection, preceptor evaluation and competency checklist.
What schedule do I follow
Your unit educator will assist you in creating your schedule during orientation to align with preceptors shifts
After orientation you will do your own schedule but you must follow the calendar that is given to you at the beginning of nursing orientation.
Who should you contact, and when should you notify them if you need to call in to the unit?
No less than 2 hours before the start of the unit.
Report to manager and charge nurse
Voicemails, texts, and email messages, and/or communications through third party do not meet the contact requirements.
What is the expectation about Vacation time during residency
An employee will receive PTO (Paid Time off), Personal time and Holiday
PTO is what is being accrued with each paycheck
Personal time is what you will receive yearly (32 hrs) These hours need to be used before the year is over otherwise it will be forfeited
Holiday hours if not used then it will transferred as personal but it needs to be used before the year is over.
What is Pharmacology passing rate
If you are unsuccessful in passing the first time then you will meet with unit educator and do a remediation.
You are not allowed to administer medications to patients until passing the assessment
You must be successful and pass by 3rd attempt per the policy otherwise you will be let go
Passing is 82%
Length of Orientation for each line
Medical Surgical: 18 weeks
Progressive Care: 20 weeks
Critical Care and Emergency Department: 24 weeks
Working hours per week
Maximum hours per week during orientation with your preceptor is 40 hours. NO OVERTIME
After orientation and once you are independent it is up to your manager if they allow you to do more than 40 hours.
What is the expectations about Break times
For shifts that are five hours or longer, you must take two fifteen minute breaks, and one thirty minute uninterrupted break
Lunch breaks - must be taken at all times and should be uninterrupted
If your thirty-minute lunch was interrupted, please indicate "No" when clocking out.
All zoom classes, prework, outrotations, bootcamp, simulation days, and any other work that you do for the NRP program you will be paid for by education
All education classes that the unit requires will be paid by unit.
Interpersonal and Behavioral assessment
These assessments are not graded but just an assessment of performance expectations and behavior
What is Professional Development and when does it begin.
These classes begin on Week 25 with all specialities
It will include EBP project
Attendance for ALL zoom classes are mandatory.
