Example: NPP called Ms. Jones to introduce herself and explain the reason for the call. NPP asked Ms. Jones if she was able to meet within 5 days; however, Ms. Jones advised she was not available until next week. Therefore, the intake meeting was scheduled to be completed on 05/10/2026.

What is the policy of no contact when receiving a new referral?


Within 72 hours of the referral start date, staff must complete a first unannounced in-person outreach attempt if telephone contact is unsuccessful. An Attempt to Establish Contact letter must also be delivered, with proof of delivery (such as a photo of the letter left at the residence) emailed to the referring Case Manager, Case Manager Supervisor, and NPP Supervisor. Ongoing outreach efforts should include calls, texts, and emails to necessary parties at varying times throughout the day. In total, three consecutive unannounced visits are required as part of the engagement process.

During a midpoint meeting, what should be discussed and when should it be completed?

During debrief - The NP also reviews the parent/caregiver’s progress toward NPP Parenting Constructs and Competencies with the DCS Specialist by phone to assess whether services remain beneficial. If sufficient progress is not being made or services are not beneficial, and the DCS Specialist approves, the case may proceed to service closure.
