gingivitis
what is case type I?

indicated fr patients with periodontal diseases or patients who will undergo ___________
what is periodontal surgery?
microspheres of 1mg minocycline inserted into pocket by cannula tip
do not brush for 12 hours and do not floss at sites for at least 10 days
what is arestin?
periodontal maintenance
what is D4910?
slight periodontitis
1-2 clinical attachment loss
3-4 mm clinical attachment level
1-2 mm interdental CAL
<15% RBL, mostly horizontal
no tooth loss
what is stage I?
reduce pathogens, address risk factors, and arrest disease progression
what are goals of NSPT?
CHX chip inserted into periodontal pocket
do not floss at site for 10 days
what is the periochip?
SRP one to three teeth per quadrant
what is D4342?
moderate periodontitis
3-4 mm CAL
5-6 mm clinical attachment level
what is case type III?
3-4 mm interdental CAL
15%-33% RBL, mostly horizontal
no tooth loss
what is stage II?
procedure designed to remove cementum or surface dentin that is rough, impregnated with calculus to produce a "glassy smooth" surface
what is SRP?
doxycycline gel inserted into the pocket by cannula tip
do not brush or floss at sites for 7 days
what is atridox?
SRP 4+ teeth per quadrant
what is D4341?
advanced periodontitis
5+ mm CAL
7+ mm clinical attachment level
what is case type IV?
greater than 5 mm interdental CAL
RBL extending to middle third of root & beyond
< 4 teeth loss due to perio
PD greater than 6 mm, class II or III furcation defect, VBL > 3mm
what is stage III?
complete mouth debridement, all four quads, within 24-48 hours
what is full mouth disinfection?
systemic delivery of 20 mg capsule of doxycycline hyclate orally
what is periostat?
adult/child prophylaxis
what is D110/D1120?
previously treated and relapsing periodontal disease
what is case type V?
greater than 5 mm interdental CAL
RBL extending to middle third of root & beyond
>5 teeth loss due to perio
tooth mobility greater than 2, bite collapse, drifting, flaring, less than 10 opposing pairs of teeth
what is stage IV?
removal of bacterial plaque, its by-products, and calculus deposits from coronal surfaces, root surfaces, and within pocket space and tissue wall to re-establish periodontal health
what is periodontal debridement?
tetracycline soaked cord packed inside pocket and retained with adhesive
what are tetracycline HCL fibers?
scaling in the presence of moderate or severe gingival inflammation, full mouth
