Meteoroid - a small body moving in the solar system that would become a meteor if it entered the earth's atmosphere
Meteorite - A meteor that strikes the surface
DAILY DOUBLE!
Describe scale factor and why we use it when talking about the planets and the solar system.
What is they use scale factor to see how far away the planets are from the sun and each other. We have to use models to represent the solar system because our solar system is gigantic. If we kept true to scale, Mercury would look like the point of a pen. Therefore we use a model to represent our planets but most are not true to scale.
