What was your favorite subject in school?
English! I became an English major in college because English was the only subject that came easily to me.
Are you married?
Yes! My husband and I met in Women's History class in college and have been together for over 20 years.
What are your hobbies?
My favorite hobby is READING, because I am a book nerd. I also love to ride my bike and tolerate running.
What is your favorite dessert?
Most things chocolate or ice cream! But I always ask for dump cake on my birthday...
Where were you born? Where did you grow up?
I was born in Baltimore, but grew up in Montgomery County, MD
Where did you go to college?
I went to UMBC for a bachelors degree in English. It was a great experience and I met my husband in one of my classes!
Do you have any children?
I have 1 son, Liam, who is a 7th grader this year at AACS.
What is your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
Sleep in! But I rarely get to do that, as I usually go for a run. I also love to go to the Eastern Shore with my family.
What is a good book you read recently?
I just finished the Children of Blood and Bone series, and Project Hail Mary!
How many siblings do you have?
I am the oldest of 4 girls, so I have 3 younger sisters. We are very close!
Where did you get your Masters Degree?
I got my Masters Degree in Education from Gratz College.
Do you have any pets?
Yes! We have 2 dogs, who are both rescue pups. One is *mostly* a beagle and one is *mostly* an American foxhound (we think).
What's something you enjoy that most people don't?
Cooking! And especially baking
What is the story with your tattoos?
I got my first tattoo with my sisters (we all have the same design), and it's not visible. I got the tattoo on my wrist for Matthew 6, the bears on my forearm for my son, and the flowers on my left arm after I completed my first century bike ride!
Where did you go to high school?
I attended a private Christian school for all of my K-12 education. I graduated from Covenant Life School in Gaithersburg.
Have you always taught in Christian school?
No! I taught for 8 years in Anne Arundel County Public Schools and for 10 years in Howard County Public Schools.
Do you live near the school?
Nope! My family and I live in Columbia, MD which is about 25 minutes away (if traffic is good!)
What is your favorite thing to do with your family?
Travel! My husband competes in triathlons, so we often go to different locations for races. We also love to play board games!
What is your favorite thing about yourself?
I am brave. There are many moments where I am scared, or unsure, or things are difficult, and I persevere through these things. That, to me, is bravery.
