A commercial business decides to sell all of their cash for $200.00 as a base price, and people can bid up to as much as they want. A participant, John walks along and sees the sign: Bet the highest bid, win big and take 100% of our cash. There are hundreds of other bidders, but John wins and takes all the money. The amount he bid was kept private, but another bystander, Bob, overheard John talking about how he got all of their money and didn't pay a cent.

How is this possible? Did John cheat?

They said you could get 100% of their money. John bid the winning amount, took their money, including his bid because his bid was now their money, but all of their money belonged to John now, so John did not cheat.
