How would you ask a child, a lady and elderly person their age?
For a child, 你几岁(ni ji sui?) or 你多大 (ni duo da?).
For a lady, it is considered impolite to directly ask their age, so it more common to just ask what year they were born in, for example, 你是哪年生的 (ni shi na nian sheng de?) or 你属什么 (ni shu shen me?)
For elderly people, they often enjoy being asked about their age as they believe it shows the questioner's respect for their experience, knowledge and health. People normally use questions such as: 您多大年纪 (nin duo da nian ji-literally, "how big is your age? “.) or 您高寿 (nin gao shou-literally, "how high age? “).

Which birthdays in China are usually celebrated and how is each one often celebrated?
Usually, the birthdays that are celebrated are one month, one year, and then the next important birthday is 30 years, then 40 and then so on.
Boiled eggs are coloured red and given to friends and relatives when the baby is one month old, and a party is held when the baby is one year old. Children's birthdays are then usually ignored.
The older a person becomes (only from 30 and up), the bigger the celebration. The word 寿 shou (longevity) is used at such celebrations to wish the person a happy life.
During the birthday party, steamed buns in the shape of a peach, which symbolise long life, are distributed. Noodles that also symbolise long life, called shou mian (寿面) are eaten. In Taiwan, guests are offered boiled pig's leg with noodles, called zhu jiao mian xian (猪脚面线). When eating the noodles, which are usually long, the guests should be careful not to break to noodles as they represent the long life of the person celebrating their birthday.
