Where do the topics that we learn about in class come from?
The Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) are K–12 science content standards. Standards set the expectations for what students should know and be able to do. The NGSS were developed by states to improve science education for all students.

Why do teachers provide procedures/expectations for classroom learning?
Expectations are the shared understandings between teachers and students about how we operate together in the classroom. They set the tone. They create the climate. And when done well, they free students to focus on learning because they know what to expect and what’s expected of them in a safe supportive space.

How can you keep up to date with assignments?
Keep up-to-date on lessons by accessing them on Google classroom and make up any assignments you missed due to absence. This could be done during Wildcat.
Why don't we use the back door?
It does not shut firmly, which prevents it from the mandatory locked status.

2. You may stand up but you need to remain at your desk until the bell rings.

What are some of Mrs. Sullivan's favorite things?
Mint chocolate chip ice cream, hiking, being in nature, traveling to new places, being around positive people, sharing and learning something new.

What are the best ways to communicate in our class?
1. Raise your hand/ move near the teacher to indicate you would like to speak.
2. Wait until others are not speaking.
3.Speak respectfully and clearly, or ask to speak in the hallway or after class.
4. Be an active listener.
5. When writing an email use complete sentences and be as clear as possible. Use a subject line, a greeting, write your message and sign off with your name.

Where do you go for a fire drill?
Being led by your teacher, quietly walk out the hallway door and turn right. In an orderly line, exit the front corner of the school. Following the line walk outside, across the front parking lot, in between two telephone/light poles designated for our class. Turn and face the school in a line that moves towards the road and wait while the teacher takes attendance.
