What are Kulaks?
This was a return to capitalism and competition introduced by Lenin in order to gain popular support and allow Russia to "get back on her feet".
What is the New Economic Policy (NEP)?
A farmer who had no rights. They were emancipated but life didn't really change for them.

Violent mob attacks on Jewish people.
What are pogroms?
Elected legislative body that, along with the State Council, that took over the Russian government after the abdication of Czar Nicholas II until March 1917.
What is the Duma?
Lenin warned the people against him coming into power after him. Lenin considered him “rude, power hungry, arrogant, and more concerned about power than maintaining communism”

Unlimited power by one individual.

Created a myth that he was the “country’s father and savior". He wanted people to think of him as “The Greatest Genius of All Times and Peoples”.

Attempted to overthrow the Provisional Government with military takeover because he was upset with not being able to execute deserters on the frontlines of WWI and wanted the Czar back in power.

Was given some authority from Czar Nicholas because he "healed" his son of hemophilia. A mystical healer. The Russian people hated him.

A peaceful march led by a priest named Father Gregori Gapon to complain about working conditions, poor living conditions, starvation, which ultimately lead to 800 wounded and 200 lives lost.
What is a Bloody Sunday?
The period of time where Stalin killed any and all people whom he felt threatened by and sent the others to Gulags, or Labor Camps.

Economic policy applied by the Bolsheviks during the period of the Russian Civil War. Cheka took food and weapons from the people. Also took control of the factories.
What is War Communism?
Lenin's right hand man and most trusted ally. Exiled for his beliefs in socialism as one country and lost his fight for power against Stalin.
Who is Leon Trotsky?
This war happened because the Russian Empire and Japanese Empire disagreed over who should take over control of Manchuria and Korea.
