Are we able to provide clients with any antibacterial ointments?

No, we should clean small wounds/cuts with warm water and soap.

-Bite scrubs are also helpful to ensure we are cleaning the area well- remembering to be gentle. :)

Helpful tip- It may be beneficial to have the client "help" clean with the bite scrub before you attempt to clean it as it can be sore or intimidating to the client. Modeling would also be a great option! 1 for you, one for the client.

-IR should be completed

- Clients can be moving around the center but should not be going outside. Continue to monitor the situation- there may be a need to keep clients away from windows.

-Lobby doors should be locked and clients should stay out of that area.

-If the situation progresses and a weapon is seen or they attempt to enter the building we can upgrade to a code black.

If a client gets blood on their clothing, what steps should be taken?

- Change their clothing. We should not have exposed blood anywhere on the floor (even if it is dry).

-If the client does not have extra clothing, look through the lost and found or call parents to bring some. During this time the client should be kept away from others until they are all cleaned up. They can play with toys that are easily sterilized while they wait.

-It helps to keep them off carpet or anything that is difficult to clean.

-IR should be completed.
