What produces sound energy?
Vibrations
What moon phase is this?

Full Moon
What item can we possibly use to make this a closed circuit?

Any electrical conductor (metal object)
Mr. Truong does a cannonball into a swimming pool causing large waves in the water. What would happen if a smaller 4th grade student were to do a cannonball?
The laves would be smaller with less energy transferred.
What is the order of the seasons starting with Fall?
1. Fall
2. Winter
3. Spring
4. Summer
Why do we need Oven Mitts when baking cookies?
Oven mitts are great thermal insulators. That way we can protect our hands from the heat.
What is the difference between oil and water mixed together and salt and water mixed together?
The salt will dissolve in the water making it a solution.
Oil floats on top of the water. It is a mixture.
Describe how sound energy is formed when we clap our hands.
Vibrations from the hands colliding/clapping cause the sound waves to travel through the air.
Describe how the amount daylight and Temperature changes from Winter to summer.
The amount of daylight increases and the temperature increases as Winter changes to Summer.
Name 3 Conductors and 3 Insulators.
Bonus: 100 points for each.
What is the definition of a Conductor?
What is the definition of an Insulator?
Conductors- Any metal or objects made of metal
Insulators- Any material or object not made of metal.
The mass of the ingredients is equal tot he mass of the mixture.
Describe what happens to the energy in this picture.
The energy transfers from the stick, to the white ball. The white ball moves and transfers its energy to the red ball when they collide. The red ball moves away.
Give a brief description of each of the 4 seasons.
Examples: 3 months, temperatures, weather, or amount of daytime.
Winter- Coldest Temperatures, Least Daytime, Snow, December, January, February
Spring- Temperature Increases, Daylight increases, March, April, May. Rain
Summer- Hottest Temperature, Longest Daytime, June, July, August
Fall- Decrease Temperature, Decrease Daytime, Falling leaves, September, October, November
Circuit 1 is a Closed Circuit.
Circuit 2 is an Open Circuit.
Friction
The smooth surface has the least amount of friction because the ball traveled the farthest according to the data table.
Describe how the energy transfers in the photo.

The energy transfers from the person to the bat. The bat's energy transfers to the ball when they collide, causing the ball to move in the other direction.
Extra 200:
The bat makes a loud crack sound when it makes contact with the ball, due to the vibrations from the collision.
Label the Seasons in the Northern Hemisphere correctly. Look at the numbers carefully!
