Which is more reliable to use during speech perception testing, MLV or recorded speech?
What is recorded speech

When administering an air conduction threshold search, when the client responds you decrease the dB by_____and when the client does not respond you increase the dB by______
What is 10 and 5

Measures the sound reflected from the ear drum while the pressure of the external canal is varied by the operator. It aids in the assessment of outer ear, middle ear and the Eustachian tube. This test should not be performed in infants below the age of 7 months because the suppleness of the cartilage of the external canal may produce misleading results.
What is Tympanometry

T/F Inter talker variability =(one time a male audiologist, one time a female audiologist) and Intra-talker=voice changes all the time.
What is TRUE

If the TM is perforated it will result in a ____type tympanogram
What is B
400
T/F supraaural earphones are preferred over insert earphones
What is FALSE, insert earphones are usually preferred as the prevent collapse of the ear canal, have greater noise suppression and reduce crossover.

Explain/describe conditioned play audiometry
What is Testing can usually be conducted under headphones or with inserts for ear specific information. I usually tell them they are going to look like a bug/butterfly or wear a special hat. Testing is transformed into a game for the child with the use of various methods (throwing a block into a bucket, slapping your hand, touching their nose, etc. Must keep the game very simple and not complicated!!!! Children that can be conditioned to the task can provide us with a complete audiometric picture in most cases.

What is the difference between ipsilateral and Contralateral acoustic reflex testing?
What is Ipsilateral-stimulate one ear and measure the change in the same ear. Contralateral-stimulate one ear and measure the change in the opposite ear.
