Why are coping skills important? 

Learning coping skills enables us to recognize our emotions and handle them in healthy, constructive ways. It also equips us with the ability to respond calmly and thoughtfully in difficult situations, rather than reacting impulsively or feeling overwhelmed. Over time, these skills help build emotional resilience, enabling us to bounce back from setbacks more easily.

treating yourself with the same kindness, care, and understanding that you would offer to a friend going through a difficult time. Instead of being harsh or judgmental when things don’t go as planned, self-compassion encourages us to be gentle and supportive towards ourselves.
