Changes in what students are expected to learn, based on their individual abilities.
What are modifications?
A “significant reduced ability to understand new or complex information, to learn new skills (impaired intelligence), with a reduced ability to cope independently (impaired social functioning), which started before adulthood”.
What is a learning disability?
Tailoring instruction to meet individual needs. Whether teachers differentiate content, process, products, or the learning environment, the use of ongoing assessment and flexible grouping makes this a successful approach to instruction.
What is differentiation?
The written plan for providing early intervention and other services to eligible children and families.
What is an IFSP?
A page that describes the child's skills and abilities based on his/her initial special education evaluation.
What is the PLAAFP (Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance)
Symptoms of this include inattention (not being able to keep focus), hyperactivity (excess movement that is not fitting to the setting) and impulsivity (hasty acts that occur in the moment without thought).
What is ADHD?
Services to assist a child with a disability including speech-language pathology, audiology services, interpreting services, psychological services, physical and occupational therapy, recreation etc.
