In recognition of his ability as a pilot, he specialized in training clone troopers who went on to become pilots in the Republic Military. Years later, not long after the first batch of cloned soldiers reached maturity, the clones were called on by the Republic for use against the Confederacy of Independent Systems, which began the galaxy-wide conflict named for the clones, the Clone Wars. he led Skull Squadron (a squadron of Mandalorian fighter pilots) as Skull Leader in numerous battles and skirmishes against the Separatist battle droids, often fighting alongside clone soldiers he had trained.
In the third year of the Clone Wars, he led Skull Squadron during the Third Battle of Mygeeto, on the Outer Rim planet Mygeeto. his actions during the battle helped saved the lives of the Jedi Master Depa Billaba and her Padawan Caleb Dume and many Republic clone troopers.
following the transformation of the Galactic Republic into the Galactic Empire, he and his Protectors sided with the new regime. About three years before the Battle of Yavin, he became the Empire's main ally on Concord Dawn. As Protector of Concord Dawn, he was tasked with fighting rebels forces and reporting on their activities to the Empire.
The Phoenix rebel commander Jun Sato authorized a retaliatory strike against the Protectors and sent the Jedi Kanan Jarrus—formerly the Padawan Caleb Dune, one of the Jedi he saved at Mygeeto

He was malformed in the cloning process, however, and suffered numerous genetic and physical defects. As a result, he was deemed unfit for service in the army, and instead provided janitorial and maintenance work on his home planet of Kamino. During his time on Kamino, he grew attached to Clone cadets as they trained to become troopers, viewing them all as brothers and individuals, rather than clone numbers. He befriended Domino Squad during their time training, and stopped Hevy, a member of Domino Squad, from abandoning them. He inspired Hevy and urged him to see himself as a team with his squad instead of as alone. This led to the squad passing, and Hevy gave nim his medal in both thanks and as a reason to come back to visit him on Kamino.

When the Empire launched an attack on the galactic capital of Coruscant, she was contracted to disable the planet's defense grid, located within the Jedi Temple. In conjunction with a frontal assault by the Sith Lord Darth Malgus, she infiltrated the Temple, proceeding to kill several members of the Temple Security Force. She successfully completed her mission to disable the defense grid, allowing Darth Angral's Sith armada to strike at Coruscant, and when the attack was over, utilized her jetpack to fly away from the Temple.
