Yes! Every item needs a pre-clean prior to being sterilized.
What can go thru the oiler machine?
High speed handpieces, and the top of slow speed handpieces (for removing glue), and microetch handpiece ONLY
How often should you check the water in the autoclave, and why?
How do you know if there is enough water?
Before each use! The machine cannot work properly if there is not enough water.
When the water reaches the green area of the tubing.
Do we discard of burs? If so which kinds and why?
Yes.
Rusted burs - they cannot be restored.
Finishing burs after any debonds - they will be too dull to use again (per Doc).

Preclean with alcohol 2x2 guaze. Wipe down handpiece.
Attach to oiler machine and run.
Wipe handpiece after being oiled.

What water can be used in the autoclave?
Distilled water only
Spray with cavicide.
Scrub with metal brush.
Place in mesh holder and put into ultrasonic.
Rinse with water.
Put in autoclave.
Place 2 tablets and fill to the top with water.
Turn on for at least 15 minutes so tablets can dissolve.
Preclean with soap and water and wipe away any lipstick/chapstick
Rinse with water
Place in cold sterile

Place one drop of oil into one hole on the bottom of the handpiece.
Attach to clinic chair and run for a minimum of 30 seconds.

Rinse and run in autoclave
Explain how to deep clean the ultra sonic
Take out draining tube.
Use pipe cleaner to plunge out the draining pipe and plastic tube.
Wipe down interior and exterior with birex.
Rinse out.
How often does cold sterile need to be changed?
Monthly

After each patient, detach the top of the handpiece. Wipe with alcohol 2x2 gauze.
Oil in the right side of the oiler machine for one second. Wipe again with 2x2 gauze.
Bag and run in autoclave.

Take out all trays.Scrub trays with "Barkeepers cleaner" to remove all rust. Rinse and dry.

Rinse with water

Dry and place in sterile bag. Circle "S" for sterile.

Take out old paper towel on the bottom.
Wipe down entire machine with alcohol 2x2 gauze.
Place new paper towel on the bottom.
Explain how to run Speed Cleaner in autoclave machine.
How often do we need to do this process?
Take out all trays, interior holder, and traps.Scrub trays with "Barkeepers cleaner" to remove all rust. Rinse and dry.
Empty all water from machine. Place new distilled water until it reaches the green area on tubing.
Place 1 ounce of speed cleaner into bottom draining hole inside machine. Run on "pouches" cycle.
Before it starts "drying" cycle, press stop. Empty all water. Refill with new distilled water until it reaches green area on tubing. Run on "unwrapped" cycle.
