No — notes are allowed on formative assignments but not on tests.

4 days (3 base days + 1 additional day for the second day absent)
A student says “I don’t know” when called on during notes. Is this an acceptable response?
No — “I don’t know” is neither a question nor an answer. They must ask a question to get clarification so they can participate.
Under what 3 conditions does a zero NOT qualify for the lowest test score drop?
Missing tests, zeros due to missing work or no work shown, and zeros due to cheating.
You solved a problem entirely on your calculator and wrote only the answer on your paper. Will you receive credit?
No — anything done on a calculator must still be written out on paper.
What is the consequence for using AI to complete an assignment and submitting it as your own?
Automatic zero, no redo, notation in Infinite Campus, behavior referral to the Dean, parent notification.
What happens to work that is not turned in by the day of the module test?
It becomes a permanent zero — no work is accepted after the module is closed.
A student helps their partner by typing answers into their partner’s laptop while the partner watches. Who is cheating?
BOTH students — the one typing is doing work for their peer, and the one watching is allowing someone to complete steps for them.
A student scored 50% on a test where the class average was 55%. They completed test corrections perfectly. What is their new score?
75% (they lost 50 points and get half back = 25 points, 50 + 25 = 75)
A student submits their HMH assignment online but forgets to turn in their paper. What grade appears in IC, and what must they do to fix it?
A zero, marked incomplete. They must turn in the paper, then email Ms. Novoa. The grade will be updated the following week.
A student finishes their test early and pulls out their phone to text their parent for a ride. What happens?
They receive a zero on the test, phone confiscated, and behavior referral to the Dean — no devices may be used during the testing period for ANY reason, even after turning in the test, and your phone should not be on you anyway.
A student was absent for 4 days. They return on Monday but the module test is on Wednesday. What should they do?
Their absence window (6 days = 3 days for the first day absent + 1 day for each after) extends past the test, so they need to see Ms. Novoa to make arrangements for their make up work. They should also reschedule the test since they missed more than one lesson.
A student doesn't understand how to do a lot of the questions on their assignment. They decide to work on an assignment they have due next period for another class and do their math assignment at home. What happens?
They'll be given a warning the first time. You are not allowed to work on assignments from other classes if you are not finished with the work for mine. If this becomes a habit, parents or guardians will be contacted and a behavioral referral will come after.
