Most of the Incas had to work for themselves as well as for the government. Farmers tended to farm in the government's farms as well as for own. Villagers made cloth to soldiers. Some Incas worked as soldiers, worked in mines and bridges, or farmers. They had a labor tax system called mita. Their were no merchants or markets. Instead, they collected this tax and distributed it to poor people who couldn't care for themselves.

Who was Francisco Pizarro? What did he accomplish?
Francisco Pizarro organized expeditions to explore the west coast of South America. His first two trips were mostly uneventful. On his third trip, Pizarro met the Incas. With only 180 men, he conquered the Incas. In 1535 Pizarro founded Lima, the capital of modern Peru.

They had nice art and beauty. Architects and sculptors made fine stone pyramids and statues. Artisans used gold, gems, and bright feathers to make masks. Women made colorful designs on the cloth they wove. They also valued learning and devised calendars like one in Maya. Aztecs also enjoyed riddles such as "what is a mountainside that has a spring of water in it? Our nose". Knowing riddles showed that one had paid attention in school.

Mehmed rule the Ottoman empire from 1451 to 1481. During this time he greatly improved the new capital, Istanbul. He repaired damage caused by fighting and built palaces, mosques, and a huge, covered bazaar. Encouraged people from all over the empire to move the city. Akbar was in the Mughal empire. Akbar conquered many land to strengthen the government. He allowed Hindus and other people to live in peace. The empire was famous for the Architecture.

Define Five pillars of Islam, List them and explain each.
Five Pillars of Islam are the five acts of worship required for all Muslims. 1) Statement of Faith which means that to say that their is only one god and Muhammad is his god. Like that, you will be a Muslim. 2) Daily prayer. You have to pray five times a day: Before sunrise, at midday, in late afternoon, right after sunset, and before going to bed. 3) Daily donations. You must pay part of your wealth to a religious official. 4) Fasting or going without food or drinks. You fast during month of Ramadan. 5) Hajj or pilgrimage to to Mecca. You must travel at least once in your lives to do hajj if you can.

How did Islam spread in Arabia?
At first Muhammad had many followers. Slowly, more people started to listen to him. Leaders grew worried and they threatened to kill Muhammad. A group of people living in Medina invited Muhammad. When he went their, this was the start of Islamic calendar and he made a hegira. He became a political and spiritual leader. His house became the first mosque. After conflicts in Mecca, Islam won and Mecca was for the Muslims. Muhammad died in 632 but the religion is still spreading.

Talk about the decline of the Aztecs
In 1519, a group of conquistadors led by Hernan Cortes reached Mexico. Their motives was to find gold, claim land, and convert people to Christianity. Aztec emperor, Moctezuma II, welcomed them. He thought that Cortes was the god Quetzalcoatl whom he believed he was coming in 1519. Moctezuma gave them gold and other gifts but Cortes wanted more. He captured Moctezuma.
