Why we baptize infants? can we wait until they grow up and decide for themselves?

We care for their eternity,

Jesus says “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (John 3:5).

Through Baptism, a child is given the opportunity to grow up as part of the church, to enjoy her Divine Sacraments, to experience the work of

Grace, and its effectiveness in his or her life.

By doing so, we are preparing them for a life in faith, while if we delay their Baptism we are depriving them of all the means of Grace and faith.
