The gift that helps us SEE & UNDERSTAND the world from God's perspective and judge correctly about matters of faith and make good decisions, so as to never wander from the straight path of justice
KNOWLEDGE
The gift which helps us KNOW & RECOGNIZE the Word of God and the doctrines of faith so that we may live by them
UNDERSTANDING
A sign of peace, purity, and love where the HOLY SPIRIT brings peace to our hearts

HOLY OIL/SACRED CHRISM
During the Chrism Mass celebrated on Holy Thursday the oils are brought forward in procession and the rite of blessing the oils is performed after the Universal Prayer (Prayer of the Faithful)

When are these oils used?
OIL of the SICK - Anointing of the Sick
SACRED CHRISM - Used in rites such as Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Orders, symbolizing the impartation of the Holy Spirit
OIL of the CATECHUMENS - During the anointing, a prayer is recited to cleanse from demonic influence, shield against temptation, and impart the faith needed to follow Christ's path
