In Genesis, it tells us the day when the waters receded and the day when the ark rested on Mt. Ararat.

What is the significance of those two dates?

1. Waters receded on the day 1 of the 10th month (Yom Teruah)

2. Ark rested on Mt. Ararat on day 17th of the 10th month (During Sukkot)

400

God tells Moses that they needed to camp near the Red (Reed) Sea in front of a Mountain. What was the significance of that Mountain and what did it mean for the Israelites later on.

They camped in front of Baal Zephon. This was the mountain that was believed to be the "temple" to Baal.

Baal was the supreme God because he conquered the sea (Yam) and defeated death.

So when Israel is camped in front of that Mt. and cross the Reed Sea, it mean that God is the true supreme God who was control over chaos and death. Which is why later Rahab told the spies that they were afraid because they heard the news and knew that Hashem is God.

Explain the terms between Holy, Common, clean and unclean and the differences between the terms?

Holy = to be set apart for some purpose. This can apply to time, space, and Israel (as a whole). Things have permanent holy status. People do not hold permanent status.

Common = ordinary, everyday type of things. Not bad in itself.

Clean & Unclean = Can either be about moral or ritual purity depending on context.

Holy things cannot be used as common, that is profanation. Holy and Unclean can never come into contact. Common and Clean are neutral, normal states. But in order to come into contact with holy, there needs to be some sort of sanctification ritual (mikvah before appearing in the Temple).

How does the law of the adulterous woman tie to Yeshua?

In the laws of the adulterous woman, she was to be shamed, and was required to drink a bitter water. If found guilty, she'd die otherwise she would be found honorable. This was done outside the Temple, to the east.

Yeshua is crucified east of the Temple. He is given a bitter drink (vinegar wine). He is shamed. Essentially, he took on the punishment that should've gone to us.

Interestingly, in Revelation, a star Wormwood falls on in the sea and makes the water bitter.

400

What in Deuteronomy supports that the land given to Israel is an eternal gift, i.e. a Royal Grant?

What does that mean for today?

Deut. states that if Israel repents after being exiled, God promises to bring them back to the land. So there is no permanent punishment, but only temporarily until they repent.

That means that no matter what, the land belongs to Israel. It's an UNCONDITIONAL gift, which still applies today.

Explain what was the covenant of the pieces, its significance in Genesis 15, and its relation to Yeshua.

1. Legal Ritual where animals were divided in two and arranged to form a path that the two kings would walk through. Symbolically means, whoever breaks the covenant will end up like these animals (i.e. dead).

1. Genesis 15, Abraham never walks through the pieces, it says the furnace and torch pass through. Someone took Abraham's place, took the burden if Abraham's descendants ever broke covenant.

3. Yeshua, through his death, takes on that burden. Maintaining Abraham's covenant. And through Yeshua, those outside the covenant can gain access to it.

Explain the trial by Waters and the Significance of the Crossing of the Red Sea, Jordan River, and the Book of Revelation.

In the ANE, if someone accused someone of something, one way to settle it was the trial by water.

The accused would be tied up and thrown into the river. If he was innocent, the gods would save him and then the accuser would be thrown and the accuser's stuff would be given to the accused.

This is why the Egyptians threw the Israelite babies into the river. But God reversed it and condemned the Egyptians at the Red Sea. Which is why Rahab says they were afraid. The Israelites crossing the sea and crossing the River Jordan = God finds them innocent and condemns any who confront them.

Later in the Book of Revelation, Satan (the Accuser) is tied and thrown into the Lake of Fire.

500

Symbolically, what does the Tabernacle represent?

What is the significance of building then?

How does that tie into Yeshua?

It supposed to represent the Garden of Eden. It has three sections, just like we see in Genesis. There are cherubim, the menorah that represents the Tree of Life. The High Priest acts as a type of Adam. Essentially, it's a mini model of that time and space in Creation.

Building that Sanctuary meant God trying to reconcile that original relationship (despite our current condition). I.e. God trying to restore Eden.

Book of Hebrews uses Yom Kippur and High Priest allusions to Yeshua to explain his relationship to us. Paul calls him an Adam. He stands on behalf of all humanity to reconcile us with God and help restore back to the Garden (Rev 22).

500

Explain why Paul shaved his head and why he did so outside of Jerusalem? And what is the significance of that?

Paul shaved his head because he was doing the Nazarite vow.

You only shaved your head outside of Jerusalem if you broke your vow by coming in contact with a corpse or something unclean. You would then appear to Jerusalem and offer a chattat (sin) offering and an asham offering.

Later we see Paul appear in Jerusalem because of that. Which means, 40 years after Yeshua's death and resurrection, Paul gave a sin offering. IF today the Temple is rebuilt, and sin offerings are done, it would not be an affront to Yeshua's death.
