Made up of Germany, Italy, and Japan.

The energy that is given off by the nuclear reaction
What is radiation?
Jews, Slavs, Roma, political opponents, prisoners of war, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses, and physically & mentally challenged.
Who was targeted during the Holocaust?
Included Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire eventually
What is the Triple Alliance? or Who are the Central Powers?
The sinking of the US cruise ship the Lusitania in 1915.
What caused the US to join WWI?
Made up of Britain, France, the Soviet Union, China, and the U.S. eventually
What are the Allied Powers?
Flash burns and injuries from debris, destruction of buildings, black rain, and radiation sickness
What were some short-term effects of the Atomic Bomb?
November 9, 1938, when the Nazis attacked Jews and their property. AKA The Night of Broken Glass
What was Kristallnacht?
Including Britain, France, Russia, Italy in 1915, and the U.S. in 1917.
What is the Triple Entente? or Who are the Allies?
Aircraft, machine guns, submarines (U-boats), tanks, and poisonous gases
What were some new weapons during WWI?
December 7, 1941- Japan bombed a U.S. naval base. The next day, Roosevelt declared war on Japan
What is Pearl Harbor?
Contamination of soil and water, treaties limiting the use of nuclear weapons, Potsdam Declaration, Three Non-Nuclear Principals, cancer, and proliferation of nuclear weapons in Cold War.
What were some long-term effects of the Atomic Bomb?
Adolf Hitler came to power and blamed problems on Jews. Anti-Semitist.
What started the Holocaust?
Militarism, Alliances, Nationalism, Imperialism, and Assassination.
What does MANIA stand for?
New technology: poisonous gas, missiles, cannons, and bombs. Also, the US recovered fast, while Germany was mad & had a slow recovery, and it was the cause of WWII
What were the lasting effects of WWI?
Germany was bankrupt and Germany was not happy about that
What events led to WWII?
August 15, 1945- Marks Japan's surrender. Victory over Japan
What is V-J day?
UN, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and the International Red Cross.
What are some organizations that protect human rights?
The secret nationalist organization with the goal of joining Southern Slavs (Serbs) in a united, independent Serbia.
What is the Black Hand?
Compensation for damages of a war is usually paid by the defeated aggressor. Germany was forced to pay after being defeated in WWI
What are reparations?
Total military onslaught by Nazis including air bombings, tank attacks, and infantry assaults
What was the Blitzkrieg?
Nuclear energy: ships, submarines, power plants, & medicine
What are some discoveries in technology?
(from the atomic bomb)
