This is the main principle of the lesson: every act of worship must be directed to
Allāh
This act of worship means calling upon Allāh for benefit or protection.
Duʿā
This āyah proves that the masājid belong to Allāh alone:
{وَأَنَّ الْمَسَاجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدْعُوا مَعَ اللَّهِ أَحَدًا}
Sūrat al-Jinn, 72:18
A person asks his friend: “Make duʿāʾ for me that I pass my exam.”
Permissible (allowed)
Why is “Lā ilāha illa Allāh” not correctly translated as “There is no god but Allah”?
Because it does not clarify that only Allāh has the right to be worshipped.
This phrase means that directing any act of worship to other than HIM
Shirk
This word means hoping for Allāh’s mercy while also doing righteous deeds
Raja
This āyah is used as a proof that duʿāʾ is worship and that Allāh commands His servants to call upon Him
{ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ}
Sūrat Ghāfir, 40:60
A person says, “O Allāh, by Your mercy, guide me,” while alone in prayer.
Tawḥīd
If someone rejects idol worship but does not worship Allāh alone, which part of Tawḥīd is missing?
“illa Allāh” (affirmation)?
The lesson defined worship as everything that Allāh loves from statements and actions of these three areas.
The heart, the tongue, and the limbs/actions
This act of worship means trusting in Allāh while still taking the means
Tawakkul
This āyah proves tawakkul.
{وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ}
Sūrat at-Ṭalāq
65:3
What are the conditions for asking someone for aid, and if those conditions are not met, what is the ruling?
Present and able
Shirk if not fulfilled
If someone worships Allāh but also worships others, which part of Tawḥīd is missing?
“Lā ilāha” (negation)
These are the three levels of the religion mentioned in the lesson, and each level has its own pillars
Islām, Īmān, and Iḥsān
Fear based on knowledge of Allāh’s greatness.
Khashyah
This hadith is used as a proof for istiʿānah
“If you seek help, seek help from Allāh.”
Hadith of Ibn ʿAbbās, hadith from al-Tirmidhī
What's the ruling on Nadhr? Generally and specifically.
It is disliked (Makruh) based on the statement of the Prophet.
If done for other than Allah Haram
Why did Allāh mention “the people of knowledge” in [3:18] alongside His testimony and the angels?
Because they understand and testify to Tawḥīd with knowledge, showing their high status.
How did Shaykul Islam Ibn Tayymiyah define Worship?
"Worship (Al-'Ibadah) is a comprehensive term covering everything that Allah loves and is pleased with - whether saying, or actions, outward and inward."
[Majmu' al-Fatawa (10/149)]
Name the three heart-actions the lesson said must remain balanced for worship to stay strong.
Hope, fear, and reliance
Rajāʾ, khawf/khashyah, and tawakkul?)
This hadith proves the seriousness of slaughtering for other than Allāh
“Allāh has cursed the one who slaughters for other than Allāh.”
Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim
A person claims to believe in “Lā ilāha illa Allāh,” but continues to call upon the dead in times of distress. What part of the shahādah did he contradict?
“Lā ilāha” (negation of false gods)?
Explain why Tawḥīd requires both negation and affirmation, not just one.
Because true Tawḥīd means rejecting all false objects of worship (negation) and worshipping Allāh alone (affirmation). One without the other is incomplete.
