Boston Massacre = Bostonians who recently lost their jobs starting pelting British troops stationed in Boston with snowballs, and a mob broke out and the British fired, but it probably wasn't a deliberate shot (lots of panic and confusion and 5 people died) --> American: THE BRITISH MASSACRED OUR CITIZENS - Paul Revere & Sam Adams; British: THIS IS JUST PROPAGANDA! Boston Tea Party = all but the tea act were repealed, so some colonists dressed up like Mohawk Indians and dumped $1 million worth of British East India Company tea into the Boston Harbor --> Americans: WOOOOO PATRIOTISM!; British: BOSTON HARBOR IS NOW CLOSED

How did slaves resist? Provide an example of a slave who resisted.
Mostly small rebellions during daily tasks. Other more uncommon forms of resistance were suicide, slave revolts, and running away. Some slaves ran away on the Underground Railroad. Others, like Frederick Douglass, used false paperwork to move North.

- Maine wanted to enter as a free state - Missouri wanted to enter as a slave state - Drew line at the southernmost border of Missouri --> anything north would be free territory, and anything below would be slave - Southerners upset because now the Louisiana territory had to be free - Basically divided the country into North & South and free & slave, and started off the Civil War
