What is the water cycle?
The water cycle shows the continuous movement of water within the Earth and atmosphere. It is a complex system that includes many different processes. Liquid water evaporates into water vapour, condenses to form clouds, and precipitates back to earth in the form of rain and snow. At the ends this precipitation collects in different bodies of water.
Explain how groundwater is formed.
Precipitation is absorbed into the ground. It sinks into the ground through the soil and then through the porous rocks. Then when it reaches impermeable rocks the water collects to form an aquifer.
