Clear the pump and enter into the patient’s chart at the end of every shift. DO NOT calculate the rate of IV and TF times the hours of your shift, because this does not account for times that the pumps were on hold for transfers, etc., or additional intake such as flushes, PO intake, supplements, etc..
When stocking patient supplements, food, and drink in the galley, what process do you use? What does it mean?
FIFO! FIRST IN, FIRST OUT= PULL OLDER STOCK TO THE FRONT TO BE USED FIRST, PLACE NEWER STOCK TOWARD THE BACK TO USE LATER, AND THROW AWAY ANY EXPIRED STOCK.

Daily CHG baths for all patients. Ensure ONLY purple top super- sani wipes used (unless bleach needed for c diff). Eliminate shared equipment. ETC.

Be considerate of your colleagues here at the hospital. It does NOT make you look better when you make someone else look bad. If you have ideas for process improvement, tell your supervisor and they may become the next PI project!
What should suction be set on for a purewick? How often must they be changed?
Suction should ONLY be set on 40- 60 continuous low wall suction. Must be changed every 8-12 hours, or more frequently if soiled. Label with date and time to ensure!!
