Believed in free enterprise benefited everyone, invisible hand, and that governments should interfere as little as possible in the economy (laissez-Faire). 2) -Wrote Candide, which attacked the Church. Instead of believe in miracles, he thought people should try to improve life as it is really lived. Believed in freedom of speech and absolutism.

Who was Martin Luther?
-Wrote and published 95 Theses. States 95 problems with the Church. This marks the start of Reformation. -Luther wants to talk to Pope about these problems (Pope is very angry). Luther says stop selling indulgences, go back to traditions from the Bible, and priests should be allowed to marry. -Emperor declares him an outlaw and Pope bans him from the Church. -Luther translates the Bible into German (revolutionary). Before it was in Latin and only few people could read it. He is able to prove himself true with the Bible.
