What is RYE?
Rotary Youth Exchange: a year long exchange program designed to immerse students in a different culture. This program is our most impactful and large scale youth program that Rotary offers.
What is Interact?
Interact is a rotary club for those aged 12-18 meant to instill the rotary values into younger service-members.
What is RYLA?
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a 4 day youth leadership program.
What is YES?
YES stands for Youth Empowerment Summit and is like a shortened version of RYLA, which happens all throughout one day!
What events and activities have RYE students done so far?
So far, students participating in RYE here have attended the Big Bear orientation weekend, and Huntington Beach surf and catamaran weekend. They have also attended club meetings, and they are here today.
How does one get involved in Interact?
You can visit your local Interact club meeting and inquire more about the group!
How does one apply to RYLA?
It varies with each club, but you can contact your rotary club youth chair.
How does one apply to YES?
It can vary throughout each program, but unlike RYLA, you can submit an interest form so long that you are involved in Interact.
What future activities are planned for RYE students?
They have many events planned, including the Big Bear ski weekend, Outbound orientations 1 & 2, the Utah hiking trip, possibly a trip to Las Vegas, and most excitingly, the 28-day USA train tour!
What must an Interact club do to remain in good standing?
And Interact club needs to do at least two service projects, one must be community or school based, and one must be to promote international understanding.

What goals do RYE students have for their time on exchange?
Every student has their own goals, that is what makes RYE unique!
How does someone start an Interact Club?
You need a sponsoring Rotary club along with a Rotarian and school employee advisor (if based in a school).
How does RYLA impact its participants?
Can impact people in many different ways, it often builds confidence in students, and inspires leadership.
How does YES impact its participants?
They become stronger leaders and get to meet people from different backgrounds.
