False: O2 tanks may only be stored in areas specifically designated for said equipment storage. Only 12 tanks ,ay be stored at all times.
What items are allowed to be stored under the sink?
Nothing is allowed
Can you store items in the hallway?
not permanently; items that are in the hallways (blocked egress) must not be sitting longer than 30 mins
Where is the gas shut-off valve in your unit? Who may shut the gas off? When?
medical gas is only to be shut off if there is a fire, leak, or disaster event. Medical gases including Oxygen is NOT immediately shut off. Authorized staff who can shut off gas: Nurse director on unit, House supervisor, Respiratory or facilities UNDER the direction of HS or unit director.
What is your process when you have equipment on your unit that is not functioning properly?
Notify your unit manager/house manager and take OUT of SERVICE with a not on the equipment, enter a facility one or clinical engineer work ticket and place ticket on the equipment.
