What is safe sleep?
If you are babysitting an infant they need to sleep in a crib with nothing else in it and lay them flat on their back to sleep.
What do you do if someone asks you to babysit an infant and you don't feel comfortable with it?
Tell the family you are not used to caring for infants and don't feel ready. You can ask to come watch the baby while the parents are home sometime for free to get some practice if you would like and they are ok with it.

Check in on them to see if they are actually sleeping/are safe. Clean up.

The heimlich manuver if the child is big enough. If it is an infant turn them on their stomach and hit their upper back.

Take the infant with you. Never leave a baby laying on an elevated surface by themselves or without you watching them-they could roll off.
Tell them how much fun you had with their kids, do the dishes/leave the house clean/call the parents if something comes up or if you have questions rather than just guessing.
Tell him everything is ok and he is safe, offer to read him a story and sit in the room with him until he falls asleep.
What can you do to make the kitchen safer for kids?
Turn off all hot surfaces, make sure pan handles are turned toward the back of the counter, keep sharp objects out of reach of the children.
What are some things you could put in a babysitting kit?
Crayons and paper, dvd's, coloring books, card games, etc.
You are babysitting and a kid tells you they have a headache and their parents usually give them two tylenol and they ask you for some. What do you do?
You shouldn't have to give a kid a medication but if you have questions call the parents. If the parents want you to-make sure after giving the kid some that the medication bottle lid is on tight and out of reach of the kids.
