Don't get it twisted, there is only one Gospel. This is why Paul gives credit to this man for helping grow the Corinthian church

Yikes! Despite their importance, Paul refers to them as last, as men condemned to death, as fools for Christ's sake

This is a realistic, specific example of a scenario when a mature Christian might turn to 1 Corinthians for truth, comfort, or encouragement

Knowing that our God loves to give good gifts, these are three different ways to grow in wisdom

Although we each have a role to play in building up the church, according to Paul, this has to remain the foundation
Who is Jesus Christ?
This catchy four-word phrase, often repeated by a certain youth leader, summarizes the kind of humble attitude we should have as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God

Using hyperbole to make his point, Paul claims that all things may be lawful, but not all things are this

Corinth, an important city located in this country, was subject to the pressures of worldwide commerce, degraded culture, and idolatrous religion

These are three realistic examples of things which we are allowed to do as Christians, but which may become a stumbling block for believers with a "weaker conscience"

Though the Corinthian church suffered some foundational problems, Paul did not mean his letter to bring shame, but to serve as this

Paul uses this two-word phrase as 1) the sole message we are to preach, 2) the ultimate culmination of human history, and 3) the grandest display of God's wisdom

Addressing the anxieties of Corinthian believers concerning the expression of rights, Paul prefaces the discussion by stating that if we do this, then we are known by God (regardless of our actions)
