This is what became the chief cornerstone, a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense.

This is what we should abstain from as sojourners and pilgrims.
What are fleshly lusts that war against the soul?
This is who desires to look into the things sent from heaven.

This is what we were not redeemed by.
What are corruptible things, like gold and silver?
This is what happens to the grass and flowers.
What is wither and fall away?
This is what kind of priesthood the chosen generation is.
What is royal?
This is why the Lord sent governors.
What is to punish the evildoers and praise those who do good?
This is how Peter describes our inheritance.
What is incorruptible and undefiled?
This what received by the tradition of our fathers.
What is aimless conduct?
This is how we are to love one another.
What is with fervently, with a pure heart?
This is why we are his own special people.
What is to proclaim His praises for calling us out of darkness into his marvelous light?
This is why we should endure suffering for doing good.
