We admitted we were powerless over alcohol-that our lives had become unmanageable.
What is step one?
It assures the newcomer that there is at least one person ho understands the situation fully and cares, one person to turn to without embarrassment when doubts questions and problems arise.
What is Sponsorship and how does it help?
Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends upon AA unity.
What is the first tradition?
We are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness.
What is promise 2?
Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
What is step 3?
A new person simply approaches a more experienced member who seems compatible and ask that person for help.
How do I get a sponsor?
The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking.
What is the third tradition?
We will not regret the past or wish to shut the door on it.
What is promise 3?
Admitted to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
What is step 5?
We are always free to select a sponsor with whom we feel comfortable, even if it is someone different then who we have now and will be more helpful in my recovery.
Can we change sponsors?
Every AA group group ought to be fully self supporting, declining outside contributions.
What is the 7th tradition?
Self-seeking will slip away.
What is promise 8?
Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
What is step 7?
Sponsorship strengthens the older members sobriety. you get to keep what you are willing to give away.
How does sponsorship help the sponsor?
AA should remain forever non professional, but our service centers may employ special workers.
What is the 8th tradition?
Fear of people and economic insecurity will leave us.
What is promise 10?
Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps , we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice the principles in all our affairs.
What is step 12?
Pretend to know all the answers, right all of the time, offer professional services, or keep the newcomers inventory unless asked.
What a sponsor does not do?
Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our Traditions, ever reminding us to place principles before personalities.
What is the 12th tradition?
We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves.
What is promise 12?
