Seattle History
In 1889, an incident happened in Seattle that destroyed its entire central business district. Despite the severe destruction, this event ironically propelled the growth of Seattle into Washington’s largest city, as rebuilding efforts led to an influx of people that nearly doubled its population and a large portion of rats and other vermin were killed off in the event. A blessing in disguise, perhaps?
