CMHC Service Delivery
The goal of these services is to help clients living with both acute and chronic mental health concerns to improve their functioning through the use of individual, group, and/or family counseling
Outpatient counseling
Educational programs on the nature of mental health
Direct services in the community
This process typically serves as a gateway to treatment, normally lasting anywhere from a few days to two weeks
Detoxification
These programs, while also considered day programs, are less restrictive in nature than partial hospitalization programs (PHPs)
Intensive outpatient programs (IOPs)
Outreach programs for persons dealing with life transitions and difficult situations
Direct client services
The term rehabilitation facility is often used interchangeably with this level of treatment
Residential treatment
The goal of these services is to achieve stabilization of acute mental health crises and prepare clients to return to community-based care
Inpatient services
Helping the community organize to work for positive systemic change
Indirect services in the community
This type of outpatient treatment is the most common level of care for clients in SUD treatment
Intensive outpatient programs (IOPs)
These programs can range from 24-hour staffed supervision to independent/assisted living options that allow folks to receive care based on their level of functioning
Residential programs
Advocacy for groups such as marginalized populations dealing with chronic mental health problems
Indirect client services
This phase of the SUD treatment care continuum is best characterized by routine engagement with various peer support groups or programs
Aftercare
These services are available on a 24-hour basis through call, text, or chat, mobile units, walk-in treatment, or agencies specifically designated to offer this type of intervention
Emergency services/crisis intervention
