Explain how sound is heard.

A sound is a vibration. This vibration moves particles in matter which then reaches our ears. It enters the ear through the auditory canal to the drums. It hits the ossicle bones where the vibrations are sent to the cochlea. Then the cochlea has tiny hairs that convert the vibrations into electrical signals that are sent to the brain through the auditory nerve.
