Assessments
Students are given screening assessments to determine students’ readiness for Kindergarten and help identify which students are not learning what they need to meet grade level norms, and may need additional investigation to identify next steps for support.
What are K-2 Assessments?
Students of all interests and capabilities are graduating with credentials providing them with a career and life-long opportunities
What is success in a Louisiana Workplace?
It supports teachers and principals in defining expectations for student learning and monitoring progress against those goals throughout the year.
What is Compass?
We rely on a teacher’s responsibility for their students and his or her learning progress
What is teacher accountability?
Inform a child’s parents of his or her academic progress during the school year.
What is the purpose of report cards?
Students take assessments in English Language Arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. These assessments are aligned to the Louisiana Student Standards which were developed with significant input from Louisiana educators
What are 3-8 assessments?
Louisiana students are prepared for four-year colleges via college-prep curricula.
What is succeeding in post-secondary education?
A web-based system that is available to districts and charter schools to support their implementation of Compass, the state’s educatory support and evaluation system.
What is Compass Information System (CIS)?
Comes from society’s loss of confidence in education

Should be aware prior to recieving grades.
Who are parents of D or F students?
Students take assessments to determine if they are ready for college and/or careers, as well as to secure postsecondary credit and access
What are high school assessments?
Louisiana students are ensured financial aid access to support them for their next steps in life.

Set and implement policies.
Who are District Leaders?
Make lesson plans to their students whether it be individually to students or the entire class.
What are duties of teachers?
Comments left on report cards and conferences that provide information and guidance regarding their child’s education.
What are parents most concerned with?
Set schoolwide student growth goals.
Who are principals?
Low student mobility, minimal funding, disadvantaged backgrounds, and may not be fluent in English
Why are student's test scores low?
Should include a synopsis of a student’s performance in all areas. Especially in those that the student is struggling in.
